Boostorder at PETRONAS FutureTech 4.0 | Fireside Chat: Tackling Market Expansion into Japan

On 17 June 2025, Boostorder had the honour of being invited by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) to speak as a guest panelist at the Fireside Chat on Market Expansion into Japan, held under the PETRONAS FutureTech 4.0 Accelerator Programme.

The session was hosted at the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers, bringing together startups from across the globe — including Malaysia, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States.

The session aimed to shed light on what it takes for startups to successfully enter and thrive in the Japanese market. Led by a moderator, the panel opened with a brief presentation by our CEO, Mr. TK Chuah, who shared Boostorder’s expansion journey into Japan, including our strategic partnership with WingArc1st, a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed enterprise solutions provider.

The 20-minute discussion explored a range of practical and strategic topics relevant to startups eyeing Japan as a growth market. Moderated by Mr. Andrew Cheah from JETRO Kuala Lumpur, the session featured insights from Boostorder’s CEO, Mr. TK Chuah, who shared our experience navigating expansion into the Japanese market.

Key areas discussed included:

  • Practical go-to-market strategies for foreign companies entering Japan

  • Available governmental support for market entry and expansion

  • Building effective bilateral collaboration partnerships with Japanese companies

  • Why Japan was identified as the next key market following our regional growth in Southeast Asia

 Through the conversation, attendees gained a clearer understanding of both the opportunities and cultural intricacies involved in entering one of Asia’s most established business landscapes.

Following the fireside chat, the PETRONAS FutureTech team treated speakers and participants to a brief tour of Level 42 — the skybridge of the PETRONAS Twin Towers.

With panoramic views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline, the experience served as a proud reminder of Malaysia’s potential to nurture homegrown tech startups with global ambition.
